Sorry to have to say but the picture was taken in November 2013 and my update is rather late so my appologies.
Star Carr have modified one of their pegs to make it extra large and smoother entry for wheelchair access. They have also cleared trees to enable parking behind the peg. Once the Spring arrives the grass will grow over the muddy area and it will become rather inviting as does the rest of the pond.
